Business Description at a glance

GENEART AG is in the DNA engineering and processing business since 2000. DNA engineering and processing stands for developments and services that allow gene sequences to be selectively manipulated, redesigned, and reassembled according to rational requirements, and to be produced in larger quantities for various applications, including drug development. GENEART’s services portfolio ranges from the production of optimized synthetic genes, the generation of gene variants and gene libraries to the production of DNA-based active agents.
GENEART’s core business is gene synthesis. In addition, GENEART also offers other services that are closely related to gene synthesis. These services cater to the ever-growing need for rationally designed gene variants and customized gene libraries (combinatorial biology), which are delivered preferentially in the customer-preferred plasmid vectors (Plasmid Services). The corresponding services are combined within the business areas of Gene Evolution (combinatorial biology) and Gene Delivery (Plasmid Services).
By using synthetic genes, gene variants as well as gene libraries, the development and production of modern drugs and bioproducts can be significantly improved and accelerated. Meanwhile, GENEART’s designed and produced genes are used by numerous pharmaceutical and chemical companies, biotechnology companies, as well as various universities and large research institutions to develop and manufacture new therapeutics and vaccines as well as to identify and produce improved industrial enzymes.
